Savory Flavor Trends in Beverages

The trend for product development continues to see a mixture of traditional flavors combined with savory flavors. Particularly in beverage applications, we are seeing drinks like;

Heat and chile flavors are popping up on many drink menus.

Campfire in Georgia

Mescal, peach-habanero Shrub, fresh orange juice, cinnamon French oak, bitters.


Floral and herb flavors are also appearing on menus.

Shiso Wild Drop

Finlandia Cranberry, Muddled Shiso, Huckleberry Tea Sugar Rim


Vegetables incorporated into drink blends

Campanula Sour

Grapefruit Vodka, St. Germain, Red Bell Pepper, Mint, Lemon Juice.


Spices flavors in drinks

Pear and Cardamom Sidecar Cocktail

Cardamom, Xante, Cointreau, Lemon Juice

The R & D Department is still on our U. S. regional blend exploration. This month our focus is on the region of the Mid-West.  One of the drinks developed for this region is Cherry Lemon Beirut Smash which incorporates sumac, a Middle Eastern spice into the drink.
