To be Organic or Not to be?

Organic foods are foods that are produced using methods that do not involve modern synthetic inputs such as synthetic pesticides and chemical fertilizers, do not contain genetically modified organisms, and are not processed using irradiation, industrial solvents, or chemical food additives.  "Natural" and organic food is the fastest growing sector of the American Food Marketplace and made up 5.8% of the total food sales in 2010, according to the U.S. Organic Food Industry.

Why is Organic so popular? The U.S. consumers are concerned about exposure to toxins in non-organic foods, which correlates to the fact that the consumers believe these products to be more nutritious than other food. There has been so much media on ingredients in our foods that don't belong there, the long term effects of eating processed, that the consumer is much more conscious about what they are eating than they were 10 years ago.  So is Organic better?  Whether you agree or not, organics are of high interest to consumers right now and Northwest Naturals has a variety of juice concentrates or blends available for your development.
